The dorKkiest idea ever

How we got started

First conceived by our head dorKk, Johann Verhoef almost ten years ago, the idea kept percolating until he teamed up with Africa Advisors who helped turn the concept into a reality. Many hours of brainstorming and problem-solving later, and the team of passionate educators and entrepreneurs finally launched dorKk in 2022.

We believe that financial circumstances should not be a barrier to a child's education, and that experienced, knowledgeable teachers should be at the fingertips of every single child, parent, or teacher for the price of a Netflix subscription.

At dorKk, we take great care to ensure that all of our lessons are fully aligned with the relevant curriculum. This means that learners can be confident that they are studying the material that they need in order to succeed in their academic pursuits.

Pre-recorded video tutoring

All content strictly follows the curriculum with added tips and tricks to help you understand the work better. The pre-recorded videos by highly skilled teachers can be watched and re-watched as many times as the learner needs.

Recommended watching across subject & grade

Learning doesn’t happen in isolation. Each video also has recommended videos to watch from a previous grade or subject to better explain the current lesson or topic.

User-friendly

We’ve designed the platform to be accessible to all. It can be easily navigated by all learners from grade 1 to grade 12. It also features a blog which highlights helpful hints on studying, time-management, and career choice.

All grades

We currently cater for Grades 1 to 12 with a weekly update of new videos for each grade and subject. Learners can also access all the information from all the grades if they want to revise a concept, or rewatch a previous lesson.

A wide range of subjects (which keep growing)

dorKk is constantly growing. Every week, new lessons are added to the platform, so learners will never run out of material to revise. Every Friday, our teachers upload between 40 and 250 pre-recorded lessons.
